Well, after taking a bashing last night by people continuing to use the A00 System to get to the Hippo position. TW has to work on it's book again, sadly people cannot just play regular chess but have to rely on an exploit found to draw over and over. It's my job to change the openings around, but I wanted to have a variety of openings for those players who take chess seriously and want to work on games they would actually play in tournaments.
TransWarp is getting it's final update for this motherboard. 8GB of RAM, DDR2 6400. Supposed to speed up the front side bus as well...but we will see. It will probably be sometime before TransWarp is able to update it's hardware after this. I found a great deal that went with my small Kansas Food Sales Tax refund. So today, TransWarp will probably have the day off until maybe late tonight. To be totally honest, I kind of hate working on the books all the time, especially when transposition, or even repeating moves in the opening are done to confuse the computer, like why move a Bishop to g2 back to f1 and back to g2 again. Or instead of 0-0, move the king to h2 via f1-g1-h2 (after h3) . And then just mirror the moves on the black side. It's frustrating when you want to see real chess and not 50 move draws. Now I don't mind repetition draws or No Material draws, obviously this means the draw was real. Not that a 50 move draw isn't real, but when it's from work copied by other people repeatedly, it does get a bit dull.
The good news is, when Rybka 3.0 comes out, it will have a function to help avoid this blockading. Then we will see if people will come out and play then. I hope they do, then I can even remove people from my noplay list and just ignore the verbal abuse. I am going to find a game replayer I can put on here, followed by one of the games I'm talking about. It might take me a few days, we have a bit of lightning going today, don't want to get the comp zapped! Yikes, almost mentioned a rival comp! ;) Well, time to get busy!
dude i am now under no play list of colussos, if icc would ban me then good, if you only know the time i spent on chess you well say i loss to much now, i just cant get off the hook, icc and chessgames.com need to ban me so i well have a normal life
ReplyDeleteWhy did you get noplayed? I know you have spent a LOT of time on chess just looking at your blog, which I have a link to as well. Was it for trying the blockade method? I know I have to fight the system with book editing, etc. Rybka 3.0 is supposed to come with an anti-blockade system. Those who use Rybka ver.2.3.2a will just have to wait until it comes out to have a better chance. More and more people are using this system and repeating moves. I guess more operators are getting frustrated and don't want to take the time to work on their books. It IS a lot of work to do so and I kind of understand that part. Working on some game moves today and last night, but there are many ways to transpose to the "hippo" even with players repeating moves in the opening or like the weird king moves in the game I have posted to confuse the computer. Myself, the problem is, I cannot sit here long times to work on my books as much as I would like to. It would be the most logical solution. As long as the aborting of games doesn't come into the picture to avoid lines that can't go into the hippo...operators have to keep on their toes. Chess is like a drug, addictive, it also gives those who enjoy it, a boost of endorphins which help with pain and make us feel better. But sadly, we can't tell operators how to run their accounts. Myself, I just don't see the point of playing the same game over and over. What more is there to be learned? (By the GM's and IM's) They KNOW they can do it, so why not play chess like they would at a tournament? You would think they would learn more this way, than playing a system that isn't used in tournament play.
