In Alaska

Well, having arrived in Alaska, via Seattle to Anchorage then back to Juneau, was quite tiring. It was 2 days over all.. Then I missed my connection in Denver to Seattle due to bad weather in Seattle, delaying my flight by 2 hours! Luckily, I was able to catch the next Seattle flight in Denver, but had to sit around the airport for 2 hours more..after sitting in the Kansas City airport for 5 hours.... But what can you do, can't control the weather! I was very lucky to be able to catch a Seattle flight at all, I might have gotten stranded in Denver and missed my Alaska Air flight, which would have cost my Dad big bucks, having to buy a new ticket, forfeiting the original one! I have had no chance for chess, after I got here, I got ill with a respiratory infection, now on antibiotics. Feeling better now though, which is why I thought I should post SOMETHING...

I really miss the chess scene, but I have far too many things to do here than keep up with chess. I don't know if the Kamsky-Kramnik match has been set up yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't. Maybe that will be the news to post when I get back! I did play 2 games on pogo.com, they need a noescape option! I really wasted a guy, won his queen, of course he just left...then you get to play a computer to finish! I officially do NOT recommend pogo.com as your #1 chess playing site. lol.

The Native Celebration was great! My dad danced representing his clan, it was awesome seeing some of my roots and heritage up here. It just was too bad that I was too ill to go see the final day and night of dancing. I still have one song stuck in my head :) I guess I wasn't a baby, but a toddler when I was here last, like 3-4 years old. But who remembers these things? I hear some do, not this guy, that's for sure. I hope to go salmon fishing and despite the pain I will feel if I latch into a 40 pounder, I WILL fight it to the end! It's just a matter of who wins.. I love salmon, so of course I will eat what I catch, they don't have it in Kansas and it would be fresh of course, so have to take it while I can! Smoked salmon is delicious as well. But I know this is supposed to be for chess, but I thought I would throw in a little Tlingit culture, what little bit it is, the sights and sounds are just too deep to explain. I will never forget it.

Take Care Everyone! Be Back Soon! I wonder if TransWarp has been used and abused...guess I will have to log into chessclub.com and check out the finger page, see if it's still online. Can't check my regular e-mail from here. Hopefully, it didn't get norated.
