TransWarp's last two databases, one consisting of 264 games and the latest consisting of 271 games, is now available on the front page of www.transwarpchess.com Thank Max McMillian in his comment on the Smallville games for reminding me to post these. Usually I would wait until 600-800 games, but they are not coming like they used to do. This is because of the limited amount of players that can challenge TW, too bad GM's can't offer 1 pt by default, but that would really skew the ratings more than they are now.
This also gives me another chance to thank all those who have played TransWarp lately. Smallville, B-Amin, RoadKing, etc....TIGRANO, can't forget him. Oh yes, and Scorpion83, even though he damaged a few circuits ;) Anyway, in case the comments didn't show up, thought I would let everyone know that the last 500+ games of TransWarp are now posted online.
Blog devoted to TransWarp, a computer chess account on chessclub.com, using Deep Rybka 3.0 x64 "Human" Chess Engine. It's a new version Rybka played by many GMs & IMs. Also includes thoughts by me re comp chess and chess in general. My thoughts are my opinion only. As to new Regs by FTC, I have yet to make $0.01 on banner ads and $1.59 on hold in google adsense for google ads. Not sure what to put yet.

Smallville plays again! sad msg to TW by who knows....
TransWarp was lucky enough to get some games from Smallville yesterday/one early this morning. As I have said before, I enjoy when Smallville plays. I usually don't get to see the games, like in this case, but when I looked at the account just now and saw that GM Nakamura had taken some time out of his schedule to play some games, I was happy. Then I check my messages and get stuff like this:
33. mdog (19:01 20-Apr-09 EDT): You should be named Smallville killer! or do you pay smallville for rating points, amazing to win like 17 straight vs smallville
Although Smallville is a controversial character on ICC, I doubt he would ever do anything like this for any computer account. (Accept money for pts). Most TW fans who check this site and my website know that I couldn't afford to pay for points, much less one lesson from GM Nakamura, even though it wouldn't do me any good, as I would forget everything in a few days due to the meds.
GM Nakamura enjoys trying different things vs computers and when he sees a position he doesn't like, I think he knows just by his eyes and thought process that it's a position that won't get him anywhere. When I see computer evaluation of early resignations, the computer usually agrees with him.
This isn't the first time people have said that TransWarp is paying for points, or that GM Nakamura is promoting TransWarp. This is silly, what would he have to gain from this? If he wanted to promote something, he would arrange a match with the Deep Rybka programmers, Vasik Rajlich or Larry Kaufman, to get money, but the problem there is that the match would be regular time controls probably and I don't think at the moment that the Rybka team after having several matches with GM's already, doesn't have the sponsorship cash to pay for such a match, I don't speak for Rybka, I just USE Rybka and believe it's the best engine out there. Which is why I state I won't use any other engine for TransWarp. So when/if ever there is that time for a Deep Rybka-GM Nakamura match, imagine the money that the Rybka team would have to cough up. It sure is a lot more than I ever could offer, heck, I'm worried about if I can pay for the website this month...end of the month another $40.00 is due to yahoo...it's a quarterly thing...when I got a website through yahoo again, I thought the payments would be monthly like before...imagine my suprise when they weren't. Luckily, I have overdraft protection, but still had to pay a fee for the check I wrote to the grocery store.
No, I just think GM Nakamura wants to figure out a trick to consistantly beat Deep Rybka 3, imagine the rating points he could get if he does. The risk of only 1 rating point to play TW at this point means he could play two humans at an even ICC ELO, gain enough points to play TW 32 games. We know he can destroy most blitz players on ICC on a regular basis. So pay for points, no...I wouldn't do it either, even if I had a bankroll to get me a computer like some of those on the CB site. The official Rybka machine can use 16 cores...that's a used car for me.
And to GM Nakamura, I didn't write this message, so I apologize for it's posting here, but I will not be even slightly accused of paying for points. Maybe just a trolling line put out there and I bit, but no way will I be accused of such things. It's still amazing to me that people will put this out there, it's been out there before, only to be refuted by level-headed whisperers...or even in other blogs, and I believe denied by Nakamura himself in an old entry in his blog, or it might have been someone else's blog. What surprises me more than Smallville's losses, is the game before, one game by a Chinese IM who played 5 5 rated blitz, one game, got a draw and never went below 5 minutes on his clock. Never seen anything like that before vs TransWarp before. Oh well....

RoadKing plays TransWarp, wins 1, gets draw
RoadKing an anonymous GM on ICC, played TransWarp yesterday, racking up one win and one draw in the encounter, while it was nice to have some games in about a week, that draw and loss sure hit TransWarp in the numbers game.
But that's okay, would rather have games than sit idle, that's for sure! So I congratulate RoadKing on his win and draw (in 13 games TW went +11-1=1) a pretty good result against TransWarp, that's for sure. This is when you wish you had some sort of x-ray goggles to see the name behind the handle :)
Here's RoadKing's win
RoadKing vs TransWarp
ps. I would guess this GM is a Harley fan :) Who knows? But that e6 square was the main problem TW faced, look how RoadKing dominated it, very nice demonstration on how letting a key square get vulnerable, you pay for it. But it is nice to be able to post a TW game, after Smallville played, one standard game by GM Bassem Amin, who checkmated TW to boot, it has been very quiet. I didn't post the B-Amin win, so I will do that now as well.
TransWarp vs B-Amin
Note how some GM's just get the job done the fastest way, like RoadKing, but some have to go through overkill... I think this is a sign of maturity, like is the program going to feel bad it got mated with 4 queens, 7 knights, 7 bishops...No, so it has something to do with the player doing it, don't you think? The program has no feelings of embarrassment, neither does the operator, the operator wasn't playing. I find it kind of humorous. But whatever the makes the player happy :)

Just for posterity for me...a few stats.

My thanks to Sin-CityandMarv for sending me this picture of TW at 2009, again, it's just for my posterity. It's kind of funny to see the kibitzing, when I DO get to watch the games, (I didn't see TW get to 4009, why I wanted to save these), the various things that people say, I don't know if they are discussing who's playing the computer or discussing who's the best human blitz player. Just in case they were discussing who it was, of course by now we should know it was GM Varuzhan Akobian the top GM in California and I think #5 or 6 in the United States. He did send me a note saying he had fun, that's the main thing.
Just for posterity for me, I wanted to post a few stats that ICC shows. I don't have the Rank when TW was at 4009, but I do at 4003 and I also wanted to post my stats in my finger notes.
Statistics for TransWarp(C) On for:55:28 Idle: 0

Finally, a table! But doing one for a big major tournament would really be a lot of work, unless I just did the top 5 or something. But one day I will get the hang of this. Eventually, this will go into the archives, I just wanted to have a little record online I could check out. I don't think a whole slew of visitors come here anyway, at least that's what my ad campaign shows...lol.
TransWarp Breaks 4000 on ICC
After playing GM Wesley So a couple of times, a very nice kid, I had asked him a few questions about the battle of the GM's tournament and his result vs GM Antonio Jr, the game that was to be replayed, evidently it was played the day before the final round, on the rest day. Of course they drew and GM So went on to beat GM Laylo in the final round, clearing up all the questions in my mind. As for the games vs TransWarp, GM So tried twice, putting up 2pts per game, and couldn't quite get past TransWarp, he had chances in the 2nd game, but later time trouble ended any chances, putting TW at 3993.
GM Varuzhan Akobian, one of the United States top GM's and top GM from California then played last night, I missed all the action...sawing logs (sleeping). He also was putting up 2pts per game rather than the usual 1pt per game TW gets, I think he may be training vs his upcoming match vs GM Shulman, not sure. He's one of those "no chat" guys.
Here is the game that put TransWarp over the 4000 mark, I think he did some later studies or something, after losing enough games to put TransWarp to 4009, 11 games without a draw, the next 7 games brough 3 draws, the 11 games streak was over last night and early this morning, two sessions, bringing TW to 4009, he then drew, bringing TW down to 3995, lost the next 3, which ended up causing TransWarp to cross 4000 again, to 4001, then the final three games he played and where TW sits at this moment brought draw, TW win, draw, putting TW back down to 3975, I wonder if they will avoid it like the plague now? Anyway, the game to 4001, and also the game to 4009 it's record high at the moment (or weeks).
SCORPION83(3520) vs TransWarp(4001) *TW was rated 3999 at start of game. Post game elo's shown in pgn file.
The game to put TW at it's current "Best" (4009)
SCORPION83(3512) vs TransWarp(4009) (ICC Puts Post Game ELO's in pgn files, TW started the game at 4007)
Now the game that slapped TW back in the 3800's the first time (will post the last game too)
SCORPION83(3526) vs TransWarp(3995)
After this game, TW worked it's way back up to 4001, but a draw, win, and this draw put her down to 3975
SCORPION83(3546) vs TransWarp(3975)
So at this moment (Time of Posting) TransWarp is back down to 3975 blitz, but has broken the 4000 barrier twice, first to 4009, then to 4001. I saw the very last game..the one posted above, and I thought I got rid of that darn Guatemala defense, but I guess I didn't do it right, now I have, though!

Also early this morning, it was a busy night for TransWarp in bullet chess as well, with GM Tigran L. Petrosian (TIGRANO) playing a bunch of bullet games. He played 16 of them in fact, setting another record for TransWarp at 3415! It had been two weeks since TransWarp had a bullet game and that was vs GM Eduardo Iturrizaga (Iturrizaga) Both have been regular players vs TransWarp and I really appreciate their play. So this last night to this morning was special for TransWarp, breaking the 4000 barrier in blitz and the 3400 barrier in bullet. But without the play of the all the players, this wouldn't have been possible, I am grateful to all!

GM Bassem Amin adds to the blitz marathon; Take Two!
GM Bassem Amin of Egypt played another marathon this morning getting one draw in the process. He actually had the game pretty much won, but time trouble is deadly to you from a computer, unless you are a premove expert like some. Even then, you might not want to do premove vs a computer, if you mess up, it will get you that way as well. So, TW is yet again close to 4000, sitting at 3988 I believe.
I would like to thank GM Amin for being brave enough to play the computer and not worry about points as it's just blitz and not like the World Junior Championships he competed in or other serious tournaments.
I will post the game a little later, I hope..not feeling too hot today...one of those days. Here you go, as promised.
GM Bassem Amin (B-Amin) vs TransWarp(C)
(From the makers of SPAMFighter, now there's the new registry fixing tool called SLOW-PCFighter. For those of you who don't know why their comp is slow, give it a try, there's a demo.)We predict your computer has Registry errors.
