Blog devoted to TransWarp, a computer chess account on chessclub.com, using Deep Rybka 3.0 x64 "Human" Chess Engine. It's a new version Rybka played by many GMs & IMs. Also includes thoughts by me re comp chess and chess in general. My thoughts are my opinion only. As to new Regs by FTC, I have yet to make $0.01 on banner ads and $1.59 on hold in google adsense for google ads. Not sure what to put yet.

May Day
The first game of May, vs GM Jonathan Rowson, again another new player. I wish there was more than one game. Nice tactical game with 2 rooks vs Q
Sadly, no. I don't see a quad core or higher coming for some time. TransWarp is a Core 2 Duo (2@2.66) w/8GB of DDR2 6400 RAM and Vista Home Premium 64-Bit. The 64 bit system and RAM have helped TW compete with the quads, I have also seen pages where the ratings difference isn't that wide yet. But I expect it will be soon. With some people playing with 8 cores on Chessbase's site and I've heard even more, TransWarp will never be at the top of the heap. Hopefully, I will be able to upgrade someday, but I don't really have high hopes. This was a gift as it is, with also a donation of the 2.66 Intel Core 2 Duo processor in early January, 2007 by a very nice person. It was originally 2@2.13 Ghz. I couldn't have hung in there without that processor gift. (Thanks ARL) Eventually, I would like to just start out with a barebones tower and work from there, good motherboard, power supply & upgradability. This Micro ATX form is really hard on the knuckles too! So much crammed into so small a space.
is transwarp running in a quadcore computer?
