New TransWarp Games

Well, after a nice vacation in Alaska, (Thank you again, Dad), TW was put back into play after disconnecting while I was gone. Evidently, it was being abused again, but I wasn't here to change variations, but still, I feel the fact that KNOWING a computer will play the same moves when you play a certain variation, is kind of like cheating at solitaire. What's the point? You prove nothing other than you have a good memory, unless you have the moves written down of course. Then it's like watching a movie over and over, you know how it's going to end... The only reason I can see that kava would continue to play the same game over and over is to gain rating points. He had done this before, I noplayed him, giving him a 2nd chance along with Smallville. But since the behavior continues... noplay again. Hopefully soon, Rybka 3.0 will be out and we will see the new anti-blockade options. Then, all will come off of noplay again. But here are 3 games by Mateus, GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (ELO 2634 in his finger notes, but may not have updated them).

I will try to update website soon. Still trying to adjust to the 3 hour time difference between Kansas and Alaska. Been keeping wierd hours as well as trying to rest. Several days up there were messed up by getting an upper respiratory infection, but the Sealaska Celebration was awesome, even though I didn't have the strength to sit for all the dancing and sick on the last day. Missed an awesome performance by the group my Dad danced with, they had a Raven Dancer, I wish I could have seen it live rather than on TV, they covered it on the local cable access channel live.

In Alaska

Well, having arrived in Alaska, via Seattle to Anchorage then back to Juneau, was quite tiring. It was 2 days over all.. Then I missed my connection in Denver to Seattle due to bad weather in Seattle, delaying my flight by 2 hours! Luckily, I was able to catch the next Seattle flight in Denver, but had to sit around the airport for 2 hours more..after sitting in the Kansas City airport for 5 hours.... But what can you do, can't control the weather! I was very lucky to be able to catch a Seattle flight at all, I might have gotten stranded in Denver and missed my Alaska Air flight, which would have cost my Dad big bucks, having to buy a new ticket, forfeiting the original one! I have had no chance for chess, after I got here, I got ill with a respiratory infection, now on antibiotics. Feeling better now though, which is why I thought I should post SOMETHING...

I really miss the chess scene, but I have far too many things to do here than keep up with chess. I don't know if the Kamsky-Kramnik match has been set up yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't. Maybe that will be the news to post when I get back! I did play 2 games on pogo.com, they need a noescape option! I really wasted a guy, won his queen, of course he just left...then you get to play a computer to finish! I officially do NOT recommend pogo.com as your #1 chess playing site. lol.

The Native Celebration was great! My dad danced representing his clan, it was awesome seeing some of my roots and heritage up here. It just was too bad that I was too ill to go see the final day and night of dancing. I still have one song stuck in my head :) I guess I wasn't a baby, but a toddler when I was here last, like 3-4 years old. But who remembers these things? I hear some do, not this guy, that's for sure. I hope to go salmon fishing and despite the pain I will feel if I latch into a 40 pounder, I WILL fight it to the end! It's just a matter of who wins.. I love salmon, so of course I will eat what I catch, they don't have it in Kansas and it would be fresh of course, so have to take it while I can! Smoked salmon is delicious as well. But I know this is supposed to be for chess, but I thought I would throw in a little Tlingit culture, what little bit it is, the sights and sounds are just too deep to explain. I will never forget it.

Take Care Everyone! Be Back Soon! I wonder if TransWarp has been used and abused...guess I will have to log into chessclub.com and check out the finger page, see if it's still online. Can't check my regular e-mail from here. Hopefully, it didn't get norated.

Alaska Trip

My father is having me visit him and my family in Alaska (Juneau) for the next few weeks, I will try to log on here and do some updates, but I don't know if I will be able to do so. I will be doing a lot of stuff which will most likely wear me out, especially the plane trip to Seattle tomorrow and then off to Juneau via Anchorage the next day, obviously those two days, no updates. Then I will need at least a day's rest before I can do anything else. It will be a lot of fun, meeting family members I've only seen in pictures and talked to on the phone. Last there when I was a baby. So I will have sight-seeing, etc...family get-togethers.. and hopefully, my Tribal name. That is kind of up in the air though, it's complicated, different clans, etc. Even I don't know the whole clan relationships. I'm more familiar with my Lakota side...growing up in South Dakota on the reservation. But hey, I get to fly on that plane that has the picture of the Inuit guy on the tail! :D Not til Seattle though...if you see updates, be surprised! But I have finished the tournament updates on the website up to the Bosnia "A" tournament. Games are available for download. Til then, Take Care all!

Carlsen-Leko Games 7 and 8

And GM Magnus Carlsen does it, making my prediction come true. Although I suppose many predictions that the chess prodigy would win were made, although which one? I'm guessing the younger one!

Game 7

And it's all locked up for GM Carlsen, just has to go through the motions!

Game 8

Here's games 5 and 6 as promised, late but here...sorry again for not being up to date, one of the hard things about chronic illness..you just can't get done what you want to get done all the time.

RE: FTC Blogger Compensation Endorsement Rule Dec 01, 2009

While TransWarp Chess does get compensation for banner ads from Google Adsense, Google Affiliate Program, Commission Junction Affiliate Program and Allposters.com. TransWarp Chess does try not to personally Endorse any specific product, while I the blogger may like the idea of certain products and services, it is up to you, the reader to decide if a product deserves to be looked at via the ads. I comment on chess and computer chess, this blog is NOT about the products that are featured in the ads. At any rate, to date TransWarp Chess' blog and the small sister blog Paranormal Questions, has in it's account $1.59 from Google Adsense, no distribution of funds until $50.00, $0.00 from Google Affiliate Program and $0.00 from CJ Affiliate Program, $5.74 in holding at Allposters.com until $25.00 is reached in commissions. All this well over a year of blogging, I guess some abuse the blogging system to the point that this rule was made, I hope this satisfies the FTC regulation, as to what I heard on the site, it sounded like if the blog itself was dedicated to a specific product/s. But best to be safe.

About Me

My photo
Not much to say, a disabled dude who blogs when he can for fun and some spare change, really that's what it's been so far, spare change! But that's life, doing this helps it go by a little less painful by keeping my mind occupied. A tumbleweed would do that at this point :P Have fun and Take Each Day as a Gift!
