I was observing and analyzing GM Mamedyarov's game on ICC as it was broadcast live on ICC, the 3rd round vs GM Etienne Bacrot of France (2705). It was a hard fought game with Deep Rybka keeping the game pretty even, however Bacrot made an error and Mamedyarov pounced on it immediately (31. Bf7+ Kg5? (Kf6)). Mamedyarov's lead grew bit by bit until 39. Rb5+ Kf6 40. Rxa5? (Rd6+ where the game is won, Rybka's eval was +4.50 and rising, then 40. Rxa5 and eval dropped significantly to approximately 0.00 (equal). This was a tough break for GM Mamedyarov, who I was hoping would win, I have a soft spot for all the GM's that play TransWarp, and lately GM Mamedyarov had played a lot of games.

At least it was just a mistake that went to a draw and not an outright blunder that made him lose the game, but losing a won game is tough, I lost many of them when I played, usually after the first 5 moves! Just kidding of course, but I did lose many a game to a silly blunder, why I don't have GM in front of my name, not even Expert! But for me it's fun, I don't play over the board anymore, (at tournaments) it would just be a waste of entry money, the meds I'm on make me lose my concentration and ability to hold a position, let alone win one. So I have to give GM Bacrot credit for hanging in there and not resigning too early (a mistake many of us have made) and waited for his opponent to misstep and it happened and he came away with the half point. A lesson for us all, don't resign too early, play on in unclear positions even if you know you are losing, you might catch a break!

RE: FTC Blogger Compensation Endorsement Rule Dec 01, 2009
While TransWarp Chess does get compensation for banner ads from Google Adsense, Google Affiliate Program, Commission Junction Affiliate Program and Allposters.com. TransWarp Chess does try not to personally Endorse any specific product, while I the blogger may like the idea of certain products and services, it is up to you, the reader to decide if a product deserves to be looked at via the ads. I comment on chess and computer chess, this blog is NOT about the products that are featured in the ads. At any rate, to date TransWarp Chess' blog and the small sister blog Paranormal Questions, has in it's account $1.59 from Google Adsense, no distribution of funds until $50.00, $0.00 from Google Affiliate Program and $0.00 from CJ Affiliate Program, $5.74 in holding at Allposters.com until $25.00 is reached in commissions. All this well over a year of blogging, I guess some abuse the blogging system to the point that this rule was made, I hope this satisfies the FTC regulation, as to what I heard on the site, it sounded like if the blog itself was dedicated to a specific product/s. But best to be safe.
